Last May 2019 ReFreeDrive partners Motor Design Ltd. and University of L’Aquila attended IEMDC conference at San Diego (CA, USA). As a result, a paper was published, which is now available for download. The paper, titled “Design Analysis of a High Speed Copper Rotor Induction Motor for a Traction Application” and authored by Nicolas Rivière (MDL), Giuseppe Volpe (MDL), Marco Villani (UAQ), Giuseppe Fabri (UAQ), Lino di Leonardo (UAQ) and Mircea Popescu (MDL) deals with the design of a 200kW, 20krpm induction motor for an electric vehicle application within ReFreeDrive project. The aim of the research is to design a low cost, rare-earth free magnet motor using analytical and numerical methods, while ensuring mass production feasibility and providing higher performance than currently commercial technologies.

As usual, you can download and read the paper either by visiting the Downloads section, or by clicking here!
